SHINE (Shanghai High repetition rate XFEL and Extreme light facility) is a new project at Shanghai, China. It includes a hard X-ray free electron laser and an 100PW intense laser facilities with overall length of 3.1km. The project is led by the Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics (SINAP).

Zanon has recently been awarded contract for manufacturing and surface treatment of several prototypes of 1.3 GHz 9-cells cavities made of pure fine grain niobium material.

For the manufacturing of these high-performance cavities, Zanon technologies and know-how will be put in place, including electron beam welding, high precision machining, electro-polishing, high pressure rinsing, vacuum thermal treatments, nitrogen doping, integration and final testing in our ISO 4 Clean rooms.

Zanon is very proud to collaborate to the development of the Shine project.
